Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques, from a mixture of martial arts traditions and non-traditions, to be used in competitions. The rules allow the use of striking and grappling techniques, both while standing and on the ground. Such competitions allow martial artists of different backgrounds to compete. The term may also be used, less correctly, to describe hybrid martial arts styles.
Our classes have been designed for intermediate level students who want to drill combos that include ground and stand up combos. You must have taken at least 5 Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing and boxing classes to attend. Its goal is to train from two perspectives. A fight that starts on the ground and then goes to stand up and a fight that starts standing up and then finishes on the ground.
We also have a growing youth program, that is focused on the novice youth, ages 5 years old and up. No previous experience is required for our youth programs.
Participating in our MMA programs has many benefits that go beyond our cardio boxing and kickboxing classes. You will get a great workout in our MMA and Jiu-Jitsu classes. Our goal is to teach the proper techniques and to instill the principles of the martial arts spirit to all our students.
