The Benefits Of Our Kickboxing Class

Kickboxing is a proven way to get fit and burn anywhere from 800 to 1000 calories while relieving stress. It is a rigorous workout consisting of controlled punching and kicking movements, which are carried out with the discipline and skill required for martial arts. People who kickbox regularly have reported significant improvements in fitness, while alleviating feelings of frustration and anger. Practicing kickboxing moves can also improve balance, flexibility, coordination and endurance and provide a great way to achieve total body workout while learning simple self-defense techniques.

Knockout Fitness specializes in a popular form of kickboxing known as aerobic or cardiovascular (cardio) kickboxing. This method combines elements of throwing punches and performing kickstand martial arts to provide physical conditioning and toning. Cardio kickboxing classes usually comprise of a 15 minute of warm-up, which may include stretching and traditional exercises such as jumping jacks and push-ups; it is then followed by a 30-minute kickboxing session that includes knee strikes, kicks, and punches. The workouts conclude with a great ab-routine and stretch to cool down.

This one-hour class involves pad work using equipment like: focus mitts, Thai pads, kick shields, and heavy bags. Students drill striking combos through the typical numbering system and practice live sparring. This class has been designed for intermediate level students.
